Feb. 28, 2025—Crystal Romanelli, director of instruction at Cypress Park High School, was named the principal at Anthony Middle School on Feb. 28. Romanelli replaces Dr. Vivian Bennett, who was named the assistant superintendent for secondary curriculum and instruction on Jan. 31.
Romanelli has 19 years of experience in education, all in CFISD. She began her career as a science teacher at Cypress Woods High School in 2006, helping open the campus. She became a campus instructional coach at Cypress Woods in 2015. Romanelli then moved to Cypress Park as a testing coordinator and director of instruction helping teacher in 2017 before being named an assistant principal at Cypress Park in 2018. She was named to her current role at Cypress Park in 2021.
Romanelli holds multiple certifications, including her Principal Certificate. She has also completed the CFISD Leadership Academy and has served on numerous district committees.
Romanelli earned her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from Baylor University and her Master of Education in Education Leadership from Lamar University.
“I am deeply grateful and honored for this privilege to serve as the next principal of Anthony Middle School,” Romanelli said. “I look forward to building relationships with students, staff, parents and the community as we celebrate the excellence of being a Raven and creating those quality learning experiences for all students.
