The Arnold Middle School seventh grade boys’ A and B teams were named 7A and 7B East Zone District Champions at the completion of the 2024-2025 basketball season.
March 20, 2025—The CFISD 2024-2025 middle school basketball season concluded on Feb. 20. District zone champions were named at the conclusion of the season.
Middle school athletics is aligned into four zones and four divisions and two conferences for basketball. Zone alignments are:
North Zone – Anthony Middle School, Salyards Middle School, Smith Middle School, Spillane Middle School and Sprague Middle School;
South Zone – Bleyl Middle School, Campbell Middle School, Cook Middle School, Dean Middle School and Truitt Middle School;
East Zone – Aragon Middle School, Arnold Middle School, Goodson Middle School, Hamilton Middle School and Labay Middle School; and
West Zone – Hopper Middle School, Kahla Middle School. Rowe Middle School, Thornton Middle School and Watkins Middle School.
The North and West zones comprise the Northwest Conference, while the South and East zones comprise the Southeast Conference.
Seventh and eighth grade basketball teams are divided into two divisions each, A and B, creating four divisions; 7A. 7B, 8A and 8B for both girls’ and boys’ basketball.
Due to the number of games played during the season, zone champions were awarded based on zone winning percentage and head-to-head competitions.
The Salyards Middle School eighth grade girls’ A and B teams were named 8A and 8B North Zone District Champions at the completion of the 2024-2025 basketball season.
On the girls’ side in the East zone, Goodson Middle School and Aragon Middle School claimed the 7B and 7A championship titles, respectively, with both teams ending the season with a record of 3-0. Hamilton Middle School won the 8B championship title after ending the season with a 3-0 record while Arnold Middle School, Goodson Middle School and Labay Middle School tied for the 8A championship title with each team ending the season with a 2-1 record.
In the West zone, Thornton Middle School claimed the 7B championship title and Hopper Middle School claimed the 7A championship title with both teams ending the season with a 3-0 record. Kahla Middle School clinched the 8B and 8A championships after each team finished the season with a 3-0 season record.
For the North zone, the Anthony Middle School claimed the 7B championship title while both Sprague Middle School and Salyards Middle School clinched the 7A championship title. Both the Salyards Middle School 8B and 8A teams claimed their respective championship titles. Each team in the north zone finished the season with a season record of 3-0.
In the South zone, both Bleyl Middle School and Cook Middle School earned the 7B championship title while Cook Middle School also won the 7A team championship title. All seventh grade winners finished the season with a record of 3-0. Truitt Middle School claimed both the 8B and 8A titles finishing the season with a record of 4-0.
On the boys’ side in the East zone, Arnold Middle School claimed both the 7B and 7A championships with a season record of 3-0. Arnold Middle School also claimed the 8B title alongside Labay Middle School with both teams ending the season with a 2-1 record. Hamilton Middle School won the 8A championship title with a 3-1 season record.
For the West zone, Rowe Middle School claimed both the 7B and 8B championship titles, finishing the season with a 3-0 record. Thornton Middle School claimed the 7A title with a season record of 3-0 and Watkins Middle School won the 8A championship with a record of 4-0.
In the North zone, Spillane Middle School won the 7B title, ending the season with a 3-1 record. Anthony Middle School swept the 7A, 8B and 8A titles with each team finishing the season with a 3-0 record.
For the South zone, Bleyl Middle School, Campbell Middle School and Dean Middle School claimed the 7B title with each team finishing the season with a 2-1 record. Bleyl Middle School swept both the 7A and 8B titles finishing the season with a record of 3-0. Truitt Middle School won the 8A championship title finishing the season with a 3-1 record.
