Welcome to the New School Year & A Note of Gratitude

Dear Anthony Middle School Families,

Thank you so much to everyone who came out for our Raven Express. It was wonderful to see so many vibrant, eager faces filling our hallways as we prepare for the amazing year ahead! We loved having former Ravens come and cheer us all on for the new year!

Middle school transitions are a big deal, and we know that these beginning of the year events—packed with crowded hallways, new routines, and a massive wave of information—can quickly feel chaotic or confusing. If you left the building feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or unsure about next steps, please know we hear you, and we truly appreciate your grace and feedback as we made some changes to our event.

We are actively working to ensure every student feels confident, prepared, and welcomed on day one. Please be on the lookout for an email on Tuesday, August 11th, from Courtney Farris, our Director of Instruction, with your student’s schedule for Day One. They will also be available on Home Access Center (HAC), and we encourage you to access that site throughout the year for grade updates. We will also give every student a hard copy on the first day. Staff will be present to support your students and answer questions they may have.

We encourage you to remind your students to have their ID badges on around their neck and visible throughout the day. They must have their badges to board the bus in the morning and afternoon. If you did not pick up your student’s ID badge during Raven Express, we will get it to him/her on Wednesday. Also, as a reminder, the bus ramp and car rider areas have switched effective this school year (please see the images below). We ask your patience as parents and students navigate this change to make our arrival and dismissal process eventually go more smoothly.

Our staff could not be more energized about what’s in store this year. Our Raven Staff is ready to #BelieveinBelieve and thrilled to partner with you to support your child along the way.

We are excited for the new school year to begin. The first day of school will be August 12, 2026. School begins at 7:45 a.m. and ends at 3:05 p.m. Doors will open at 7:25 a.m. to allow students time to get to class before the tardy bell rings at 7:45 a.m.

As we prepare to open our doors for another exciting school year, we want to extend a warm welcome back to our returning families, as well as an enthusiastic greeting to everyone joining our community for the very first time!

The start of a new school year is a milestone season filled with new friendships, fresh opportunities, and inspiring growth.

• To Our Newest Students (6th Graders): Welcome to middle school! We are thrilled to guide and encourage you as you begin this exciting new chapter of your educational journey. Get plugged in for ultimate success and enjoy making new friends!

• To Our Returning Students (7th & 8th Graders): We can’t wait to see your familiar faces back on campus, leading the way and setting a fantastic example for our school family. Show the world how Ravens Rise!

This newsletter is designed to be your one-stop guide to help your family navigate the first few weeks with confidence. Please review the key details below:

Raven Express: This is a come-and-go event for students and parents. Turn in copy paper and Kleenex, receive tentative schedules (be sure to clear your fees/fines to be able to pick up), pick up pre-ordered spirit items, walk the building (you will be able to meet your student’s teachers at Open House in August) and get ready for day one.

Raven Athletic Express: For those student-athletes registered for athletics, you can take care of all things Raven Athletics on August 5th. Early afternoon or evening options available for come-and-go!

Dress Code Guidelines: If you are doing back-to-school shopping, please review our dress code guidelines ahead of time so your child is ready and aligned on day one.

School Supplies: Check out the official supply lists for each grade level to ensure your student has the essential tools for academic success. If you pre-ordered school supplies, those will be available for pick up in the cafeteria at Raven Express.

We are excited to welcome all of our students back to campus very soon. Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support as we work together to make this school year an exceptional one.
