MIDDLE SCHOOL ONE-ACT PLAY CONTEST SET FOR NOV. 10-11 AT THE BERRY CENTER

Medals will be up for grabs when the CFISD Middle School One-Act Play Contest is held Nov. 10-11 at the Berry Center. The competition will be divided into three zones consisting of five schools each.

Medals will be up for grabs when the CFISD Middle School One-Act Play Contest is held Nov. 10-11 at the Berry Center. The competition will be divided into three zones consisting of five schools each.

Oct. 30, 2017—The CFISD Middle School One-Act Play Contest will be held Nov. 10-11 at the Berry Center (8877 Barker Cypress Road).

The competition will be divided into three zones consisting of five schools each. The Zone I schedule will begin at 1 p.m. on Nov. 10 with the following school’s one-act play performances starting at the top of each hour.

  • Spillane Middle School: I Never Saw Another Butterfly by Celeste Raspanti;
  • Cook Middle School: Second Best Bed by Tim Kelly;
  • Bleyl Middle School: Small Actors by Stephen Gregg;
  • Kahla Middle School: Calabasas Street by Jose Cruz Gonzalez; and
  • Goodson Middle School: The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Adapted by Christopher Sergel.

The Zone II schedule will begin at 9 a.m. on Nov. 11 with the following schools’ performances at the top of each hour:

  • Truitt Middle School: The Dancers by Horton Foote;
  • Arnold Middle School: Persephone by Ford Aimsworth;
  • Salyards Middle School: Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. Adapted by Eric Coble;
  • Hamilton Middle School: The Staggering Heartbreak of Jasmine Merriwether by Don Zolidis; and
  • Aragon Middle School: The Yellow Boat by David Saar.

The Zone III schedule will begin at 3 p.m. on Nov. 11 with the following schools’ performances at the top of each hour:

  • Anthony Middle School: The Blue and the Grey by RS Paulette;
  • Hopper Middle School: Bad Seed by Maxwell Anderson;
  • Thornton Middle School: The Magic Well by Hermann Ammann;
  • Labay Middle School: Small Actors by Stephen Gregg; and
  • Smith Middle School: The Great Pandemonium by Pat Cook.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $10. Admission is free for all district employees with ID.
